In the beginning, we started by assembling and producing battery packs, mainly intended for converting regular bicycles into electric ones. Our first goal was simple — to build high-quality batteries and install them on bikes so that our friends and customers could enjoy a more comfortable and reliable ride. From the very first bike, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, which motivated us to keep going and keep improving.

Over the years, we expanded our offer and began selling both bicycles and e-bikes from other brands. In 2019, we went on a business trip to Taiwan, originally planned to explore new opportunities in the bicycle industry. There, we happened to meet a bicycle frame manufacturer by chance — a meeting that became a turning point for us. Together, we developed our very first electric bike, the ECONO Apes 2.

Why did we decide to create our own line of bikes? Simply because suppliers from other brands couldn’t keep up with our needs, and we had a different vision of what the market truly required from electric bicycles. We wanted to create bikes that combine innovation, quality, and practicality — products designed for real riders and real-world use.

We are part of Comtron, a company with more than 35 years of experience on the market and a strong foundation in the field of information technology. This background gives us long-standing stability and deep technical knowledge, allowing us to integrate smart, efficient, and reliable solutions into everything we do. The connection between IT and e-mobility has become one of our strongest advantages.

In 2025, we separated our battery production into a dedicated division, Comtron Batteries, which allowed us to focus even more clearly on the development and production of bicycles under the ECONO brand. Today, ECONO stands for electric and conventional bicycles — a symbol of our passion for cycling, technology, and continuous improvement. Through innovation, experience, and dedication, we strive to deliver the best possible riding experience to every cyclist.
